Escrow Terms & Payment Rules

Last Updated: July 26, 2026 · Guaranteed payment protection for clients and freelancers.

1. How Zoodo Escrow Protects Both Parties

Zoodo Escrow operates as a secure intermediary holding service. When a Client accepts a project proposal or creates a contract milestone, the agreed funds are deposited into Escrow before work begins. The Freelancer works with complete confidence knowing funds are committed and verified.

2. Depositing Escrow Funds

  • Deposits are accepted via Mobile Money (MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, Zamtel Kwacha) and Visa/Mastercard cards via Lipila Gateway.
  • Funds are converted and recorded in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW).
  • Funds remain securely locked in Escrow until the Client reviews and approves submitted work deliverables.

3. Milestone Release & Deliverables

  • Freelancers submit completed deliverables through the Zoodo contract workspace.
  • Clients have 14 calendar days to review submitted deliverables and request revisions or approve milestone payment release.
  • Upon client approval, escrow funds are instantly released to the Freelancer's available Zoodo wallet balance minus platform service fees.
  • If a client does not respond within 14 days following work submission, funds auto-release to the freelancer.

4. Platform Commission Structure

Zoodo charges a competitive 10% service commission on completed milestone releases. This fee maintains platform security, mobile gateway integration, real-time messaging, and dispute arbitration.
